SFG recognizes milestone safety achievement
May 18, 2016
SFG recently reached a new milestone in safety, operating for three consecutive years free of Lost Time Incidents (LTI).
As a critical component of daily operations at SFG, safety is part of the culture from the top down. This significant accomplishment clearly demonstrates SFG’s strong commitment to this culture.
Safety Team Leader Pam Prather said her goal is for “a zero harm environment where everyone goes home in the same condition they arrived that day.”
Contributing factors to SFG’s safety record include a safety orientation beginning on day one for all new team members followed by continued education and training. The program is supported by a strong safety committee, and the company takes the time to celebrate each time a 90-day milestone is met.
To make the information readily available to employees and promote a unified safety mindset, SFG maintains a lighted board that keeps a running tally of consecutive no LTI days. The safe workforce culture is engrained and communicated on a regular basis.
Tony Pytlak, President/COO, is quick to congratulate his team of employees. “Everyone wants to work in a safe environment,” says Pytlak. “Safety is only as good as the individuals who make it a priority, so congratulations and my warmest thanks to all SFG employees.”
SFG celebrated the three-year no LTI milestone with a catered lunch for its employees along with hourly prizes awarded throughout the day.
